Lots of craziness outside of practice for sure😂 But pretty normal at practice.
Thu, 21 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Wed, Sep 20, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-20-2017.html
No biking today because we are on low! Did a perfect loop with some of my favorites👌🏼 Feeling good :) A little sore, but good!
Wed, 20 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Tue, Sep 19, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-19-2017.html
Speed day. 10 x 400m! On the track! It got me excited :) The said paces were 5 at 5k, 3 at 2 mile, and 2 at mile. Tried to stay on the outside lanes so I could push harder but not push pace with the guys. Hit 76, 76, 75, 73, 78, 69, 70, 70, 62, 63. Very pleased with my times, effort, and mental state. Finished up with 20 min on the bike!
Tue, 19 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Mon, Sep 18, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-18-2017.html
Great news! Running felt alright today :) I will probably just be running 6 miles everyday now and biking the rest of my mileage to ensure an injury free season. I biked 20min today and it felt good! Also added single leg squats to my abs, hips, and push-ups/pull-ups!
Mon, 18 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Sat, Sep 16, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-16-2017.html
No T-Shirt today. The main goals were to take a controlled first mile, focus on the second, and get a shirt! Controlled the first, held the 2nd, and I am not sure how the third was so bad😕 Side note... first experience getting spiked in a race, right around the starting bend. Ripped my spikes, put a hole in my sock, and punctured my toe pretty good! It was deep but right on the bend so I can't get stitches or they would rip too easy. It's not likely, but I am scared it's broken😬 My achilles was pretty flared too, even on the warm up. I got to see Gan though!! I love her :)
Sat, 16 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Fri, Sep 15, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-15-2017.html
My soleus/achilles felt really bad all day just walking... tried running and that wasn't so hot. Finished with a light 30 min bike ride! Still planning on racing tomorrow :) Yay for adrenaline!
Fri, 15 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Thu, Sep 14, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-14-2017.html
Boomerang workout today! Down and up a hill for 1000m 6 times at 5k pace. 3:30 rest in between. Not too hard, we were ahead of the said pace by a lot each set. I kept it consistent, controlled, and focused on the uphill! Felt good about it :) And finished to medium mileage today, so that's a win!
Thu, 14 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Wed, Sep 13, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-13-2017.html
Similar to yesterday except 30 on the bike!
Wed, 13 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Tue, Sep 12, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-12-2017.html
1) A fear of high mileage and my achilles

2) I developed a pretty good cold this weekend and it was at its worst today. Not to mention the air wasn't so good to breathe

I ran 4 then biked 40 minutes
Tue, 12 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Mon, Sep 11, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-11-2017.html
If you saw my last post on the kicker, this was the same story😂 The goal was to beat the record (Andrew's 8:10). I did, but Andrew ran an 8:05 and beat me! What a guy. Both of us felt good today and were duking it out, switching the lead. It's alright though. I was positive and am proud of what I've done! Hopefully we do it a couple more times so I can push for sub 8😆
Mon, 11 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Sat, Sep 09, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-09-2017.html
A well needed really slow recovery. Got big plans for Monday so watch out world, I'm about to break records!
Sat, 09 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Fri, Sep 08, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-08-2017.html
Boy oh boy... I don't know what to do except try to find the good and hope it'll all come together someday. 1) Best first mile I've had all season, finally starting out where I should 2) Passed 1 guy on the home stretch 3) Cheered really hard for all the other races! I am going to work on the first two miles next race and just stay relaxed. Decided to not worry about college running anymore because at this rate it's not happening so why stress it?
Fri, 08 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Thu, Sep 07, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-07-2017.html
Did pre meet a little quick... Haha! Can't wait for another chance to try this whole racing thing tomorrow :)
Thu, 07 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Wed, Sep 06, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-06-2017.html
More recovery! We actually did a mile of speed changes though, and I think they accidentally made me sore😬😂
Wed, 06 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Tue, Sep 05, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-05-2017.html
Honestly a ditto from yesterday. Same loop, same recovery, just actually had people this time :)
Tue, 05 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Mon, Sep 04, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-04-2017.html
Just a nice recovery! Stayed in that magical 7:00-8:00 range that all recoveries should fall in :)
Mon, 04 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Sat, Sep 02, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-02-2017.html
Holy cow... Today was interesting. 3 sets of 100m 200m 300m 400m 500m latters up the sheep hill. It hurt a lot. I managed to do really well on all of the 400m's but botched the last 500m. I was really disappointed in myself and was talking to Brynlee about it. She told me that through every workout she tells herself "I can do all things through Christ." So, I drove back to the hill and had at it again. A 500m. My throat was dry, my legs were on fire, and my arms were sore but I just kept saying "I can do all things through Christ" and I made it through much quicker than before. I tried again, another 500m, and found the same results! It definitely made a bad workout turn into an awesome experience! Shoutout to Bryn for that :) and for a great day!
Sat, 02 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Fri, Sep 01, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-09-01-2017.html
Low recovery days are the best! Chuck came and visited us too :)
Fri, 01 Sep 2017 06:00:00 Thu, Aug 31, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-08-31-2017.html
Mystery Whistle Hills. Not sure how I felt about these! I kind of started out way hard and slowly dropped... so it's not like I gave up but I wasted myself because I tried going too hard to begin with. Ran 3 miles after work (after I ate) and felt really sick! But, it was a quicker pace. Plus, my Hupanas felt a lot better this time around!
Thu, 31 Aug 2017 06:00:00 Wed, Aug 30, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-08-30-2017.html
Half run half cross train day! Biked 30 minutes.
Wed, 30 Aug 2017 06:00:00 Tue, Aug 29, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-08-29-2017.html
The course was supposed to be 3 miles... But it wasn't😂 I'm not going to complain. The main idea of the race (workout) was to get a feel for pack running. Our top 5 varsity stuck together really well for the first 2 miles (both were about a 5:30) and then Andrew turned to me and said "let's go." We went. I had a hard time staying right with him, but we both passed some people and I feel like I had a good kick compared to my usual. Overall pretty satisfied!
Tue, 29 Aug 2017 06:00:00 Mon, Aug 28, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-08-28-2017.html
Start of awesome week! Jamie told us 8 sets of 600m on the berm, into 100m jog on the track, then 200m sprint! It was hot and my legs felt so tired because I was wearing compression socks to hold my achilles. But, Jamie came up to us after set 5 and said "Just kidding! This is your last one!" :) So that was nice! My 600's were 1:52, 1:54, 1:54, 1:55, 1:56, 1:54! Felt good about it. Bought some quarter length compression socks so I can support my achilles and not tire my calves! Hopefully it'll help😊
Mon, 28 Aug 2017 06:00:00 Sat, Aug 26, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-08-26-2017.html
Race today wasn't too bad. Achilles felt pretty good but the race was just okay! We placed top 10 I think😂
Sat, 26 Aug 2017 06:00:00 Fri, Aug 25, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-08-25-2017.html
Premeet and finished up with 30 min on the bike
Fri, 25 Aug 2017 06:00:00 Thu, Aug 24, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-08-24-2017.html
Today was a low easy pace day. But... I played it safe and cross trained. Got on the stationary bikes for a 10 min warm up 35 minute endurance ride, and 5 minute cool down. We were supposed to do 5x100m strides... but, I tried 2 and decided I shouldn't test my luck😬 Abs, hips, and push ups!
Thu, 24 Aug 2017 06:00:00 Wed, Aug 23, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-08-23-2017.html
😭 My achilles hurt today. I didn't have enough time to cross train so I just ran on it. It seems like this happens way too often and I'm not sure what to do. If I roll it then it temporarily feels good but I don't want to have this battle the rest of my running career!!
Wed, 23 Aug 2017 06:00:00 Tue, Aug 22, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-08-22-2017.html
Well, considering the heat... and all other circumstances... it was a good workout! I hit the time I wanted but wasn't quite record worthy because Andrew beat me😂 I'm so proud of him though! The cool down was tough. Never lots of fun to run 7 miles after you just killed yourself! I think I had a lack of blood sugar or hydration, maybe both?
Tue, 22 Aug 2017 06:00:00 Mon, Aug 21, 2017 http://dalpal.fastrunningblog.com/blog-08-21-2017.html
Good good run today! Easy pace with speed tomorrow means slow end consistency. I hit all my miles (excluding the warm up) between 6:43-6:45! Felt nice and relaxed :) I can't wait for school!
Mon, 21 Aug 2017 06:00:00
